trying to find books in my library that is about problems with overuse of technology and have no luck, what can i do?
You can search the library's online catalog via this link : http://hamlet.mercyhurst.edu/
It is important to discover different search terms before beginning. Determine the key words that are within the question (Problem, Overuse, Technology). Think of synonyms for these (Problem, Dilemma, Issue... Overuse, Addiction, Dependence... Technology, Internet, Computer, Device). Synonomous terms will help retreive more results and make sure you don't leave out important information from your search.
When searching, use OR to link like terms (Addiction OR Overuse... Technology OR Devices)
Then use AND To link ideas together (Addiction OR Overuse) AND (Technology OR Devices).
Build these search phrases from the advanced search options. You can use this type of search in any of our resources like the catalog, subscription databases, or ebook collection.
To access the ebook collection: http://library.mercyhurst.edu/find/ebooks You will want to use EBSCO Academic eBook Collection
To access subscription databases for journal articles: http://library.mercyhurst.edu/find/subscription-databases
Recommended databases are Academic Search Complete, Business Source Complete, ERIC, and JSTOR which can all be accessed via this subscription list.
