Q. Can I record a show from TV and show it in the classroom?

It depends. The safest practice is to just contact the content creator and ask what their policy is. Some creators of televised content are very accommodating to educators while others are not.

The other alternative is to show legally acquired media (DVDs, CDs, etc.) in the classroom. We suggest that you work with your department to acquire a legal copy. Often this means purchasing a copy of the televised broadcast directly from the network.

Alternately, you can also contact your library liaison and suggest that the library purchase a copy.
