Answer
It really depends on what it is and in what format the library we are borrowing from sends. If it is a print book...it might take that long. The sending library has to send it via mail. If it is journal article and the sending library has it in electronic format, then it might only take a day or two. Most likely, the week-ends don't count, because most librarys only have a Monday through Friday Interlibrary loan staff, so nothing gets processed on the week-ends, including Mercyhurst. We try to borrow from the closest library, but sometimes the book we want is out, so we request from another library. This goes on until we find a library that will send it. That is why we say two weeks. Most of the time, it is faster.
